

Prior to restoration the decision was made to restore the car as original looking as possible while taking advantage of new technology. The motor is a 350 (4 bolt main) The transmission is a 3 speed automatic. The car has "classic air" with an electric puller fan for added cooling. It has an electronic ignition with high resistance plug wires. The steering is handled by a power 605 box routed through existing steering. There is power assisted front disc brakes. The "Bel Air" has had a full frame off restoration in 1989. Then in 2001 a full frame on restoration was undertaken. The car was stripped to bare metal. It was painted back to the original colors using Dupont products. Colors are regal turquoise and indian ivory. Complete outside look of the original 55 was retained with the exception of American Torque Thruster wheels. New springs and shocks were installed in the rear that houses 373 gears. The original dash bezel was retained with upgraded analog gauges that include an electronic speedometer. Radio is a four speaker stereo with tape deck. The electric clock and cigarette lighter are in working order all dash lights are also working including the dome light. All original stainless was straightened and dents removed before polishing. All rubber seals and molding were replaced with new after market products. Where possible, stainless steel nuts and bolts were used in place of the original fasteners. Has won the following trophies: Top 15 and best interior. 2007 won 1st place in modified class at Spring Tri Five show in Pigeon forge, TN
